Private Driving Lesson Prices in Abu Dhabi
Private driving lessons in Abu Dhabi are booked in pairs: two 45-minute sessions on the same day. With a male instructor that is AED 150 for the pair. With a female instructor it is AED 200 for the pair. Single sessions are not available — your instructor travels to you, so one 45-minute session on its own is not practical. The Golden Chance package is 8 sessions — AED 600 with a male instructor, AED 800 with a female instructor, with pick-up and drop-off included in Abu Dhabi city, Mussafah, Khalifa City and Bani Yas. What Private Driving Lessons Cost
Lessons are booked by the visit, and there are two lengths. A visit is normally two 45-minute sessions in one day — 1 hour 30 minutes in total — AED 150 with a male instructor and AED 200 with a female instructor. A full two hours can be booked instead: AED 200 with a male instructor and AED 250 with a female instructor. Pick-up and drop-off (pick and drop) are included across Abu Dhabi city, Mussafah, Khalifa City and Bani Yas; further out we confirm the full price before you book. Why lessons come in pairs
Your instructor drives to you, with the car, at a time you choose. For a single 45-minute session, more of the appointment is spent travelling than driving. Two sessions in the same day give you around an hour and a half behind the wheel, which is why the pair is the smallest booking we take.
Sessions are booked two or three to a day — two is the minimum, three the maximum. If you would rather book by time, a full two hours is available instead of a pair of sessions. Arrange which suits you with your instructor when you book. That is why the Golden Chance package of eight sessions takes three or four visits rather than a fixed number.
Golden Chance, 8 sessions: AED 600 with a male instructor, AED 800 with a female instructor. What the package adds is continuity with one instructor who knows where you are up to, and a block of sessions sized around the Golden Chance requirement.
What we do not cover
- Light vehicle only. We do not provide heavy vehicle, bus, truck or boom loader training.
- Lessons are in the instructor’s car. We do not train on a learner’s own car.

What a Session Includes
Every session is private instruction with one learner and one instructor. In practice a session covers:
- One-to-one time with your instructor — lessons are never shared with another learner
- Automatic or manual practice, depending on the instructor you are matched with
- Road practice around your own part of Abu Dhabi, including the routes learners are commonly tested on — in Mussafah that means the service roads and the 8th Street corridor, and in Bani Yas the approaches to the Baniyas Interchange on the E22
- Work on what tests are usually failed on — parking, lane discipline, mirrors and blind spots, roundabouts
- Feedback at the end on what to practise before the next session
- Pick-up and drop-off, on the terms set out above
Session length
Each session is 45 minutes, and sessions are booked two to a day, so a booking is about an hour and a half of driving. Eight sessions is 6 hours, which is what Golden Chance requires.
Golden Chance and the 6-Hour Requirement
If you are applying through Golden Chance, you must complete a minimum of 6 hours of external road training with an instructor before your final test. That is a regulatory requirement set by the Abu Dhabi authorities, not a rule of ours, and it applies whoever you train with.
The 8-session package at AED 600 is built around that minimum. At 45 minutes a session, the eight sessions in the package add up to exactly those six hours. They are booked two or three to a day, so three or four visits in total. The package is AED 600 with a male instructor and AED 800 with a female instructor.
We do not decide who is eligible for Golden Chance, and the outcome of the test is not ours to influence — that sits with the Abu Dhabi authorities. What we provide is the road training itself. There is more detail on our Golden Chance driving license page.
Fees Paid Directly to the Authorities
The prices on this page are for private instruction only. Official driving school fees and government fees are separate. You pay those directly to the Abu Dhabi authorities and to your registered driving school — they are not collected by us, and they are not included in the AED 150, the AED 200, the AED 600 or the AED 800.
We are not a driving school. We connect learners with experienced private instructors for one-to-one practice and guidance. Your file, the official training requirements, the tests themselves and licence issuance are all handled through your registered Abu Dhabi driving school and the traffic authority.
